About Us

If you are hosting an event on the campus of Portland State University that requires Audio Visual equipment, CAVET (the Classroom Audio Visual Event Team) is here to assist you. We provide a wide range of services which include setting up and running sound for Panel Discussions; Laptops, DVD players and Projectors for Powerpoint and video presentations; Simple audio recording services are also available. In addition to equipment we provide Student Technicians who are trained to set up and run equipment for you. If you decide you need a Student Tech, let us know at least a week in advance so that we can schedule them to help out. Techs are available for a minimum of 2 hrs . If you are in need of Videotaping services, a service we do not provide, please contact the Manager of the Distance Learning Center at 503-725-9145.

If you have already reserved a space for your event on campus and are ready to begin reserving AV equipment, please contact the Event Resource Coordinator at 503-725-9108 or send them an email outlining your needs cavet@pdx.edu . Please include your EMS reservation if you have one. If you do not have an EMS reservation number but you still require AV equipment, please call or send an email so that we can begin to process your request.

PSU Internal pricing is available to PSU Faculty and Staff who are hosting events which are PSU related. Student Groups are welcome to reserve equipment for their group related events at a discounted rate. Guests of PSU who are reserving AV equipment will be required to pay the external rate. External rates are double the cost of the internal.

We are located in the Basement of Smith Memorial Student Union room #1. Please come see us Monday through Friday from 8am till 4pm.
