1. How do I get my event videotaped?

CAVET does not currently provide videotaping services. If you need your event videotaped, please contact Rick Arnold  at the Distance Learning Center by calling 503-725-9145 Or Contact the Student Group “Viking Vision”

2. How large of an event can you help me support?

CAVET can support a wide range of events providing video projection and sound amplification for groups of 10 to 500 people depending on the location on campus. Please contact either Jeffery Wright or Vikram Aulakh,  CAVET Coordinator at 503-725-9108 Ext for more details

3. Where can I host my event on campus?

CAVET does not reserve physical locations on Campus. All campus space reservations are made through Campus Event Scheduling. They can be reached by calling: 503-725-4522

4. Where do I get a podium?

Podiums are reserved through Campus Event Scheduling when you book a room or space.

5. What if I need special lighting for my event?

CAVET does not currently provide special lighting for events. Please consider looking up a local vendor in the yellow pages under "Event" and/or "Lighting."

6. How soon before my event should I request services?

Ideally, you should contact us for services the same day that you book your reservation with Smith Center Scheduling. Events requiring Audio Visual support other than what is provided by Smith Center must contact us a minimum of 3 days prior to their event in order to avoid paying a Late Arrangement Fee (see our price guide for fee schedule ).

7. What if it gets too hot/ cold in the room where my event is taking place or the room need maintenance?

For Temperature issues, please contact Facilities and Planning x @ 503-725-4329 or submit a work order to Facilities.

8. Can I have access to the web for my event?

If you are a PSU instructor or Staff member, you will be able to use your odin account to access the web. If you do not possess an Odin account, you may be able to establish a temporary account by contacting the Office of Information Technologies (OIT) User Support Services, A.K.A. the "Help Desk" @ 503-725-HELP(4357)

9. How much does it cost to have a Technician set up and run my event?

10. Do student groups get services for free?

This is true, Student Groups are able to rent equipment for their events free of charge once they have filled out the Student Development Form.

11. Where is the CAVET Office Located?

We are located in the Basement of Smith Memorial Student Union , Room #1

12. How do I get a hold of the CAVET Resource Coordinator?

13. What if I want to have a teleconference at my event?

Teleconferencing can be arranged through Networking and Telecom Services.

14. Do you do audio recordings of events?

Yes, we do audio recordings of events using a standard Tape Cassette deck and Digital Audio Recorder.
